WEST CHELSEA ARTISTS OPEN STUDIOS PRESENTS ITS SIXTH ANNUAL ARTISTS’ OPEN STUDIOS EVENT this June in the West Chelsea Gallery District.
Event Dates: Saturday and Sunday, June 11-12, 2016 from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Ten times Tony award winning Tommy Tune, a Broadway legendary star and artist, will participate in the West Chelsea Artists Open studios, June 11-12, 2016, during the weekend of the Tony Awards.

Tommy Tune will present a series of his Broadway lithography prints, and will be on hand for a print signing during the open studios event, Sunday, June 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to autograph purchased artworks.

The prints will be on view at the West Chelsea Artists Open Studios event, Saturday, June 11, and Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the West Chelsea Arts Building, 526 West 26th Street, 12th floor, NYC.

More than 40 West Chelsea artists in 12 buildings open their studios to the public during the weekend of June 11-12, 2016. The free self-guided open studios tour stretches along the High Line between Westbeth Artists building and West Chelsea Arts building. The self-guided tour starts at the West Chelsea Arts building, 508-526 West 26th Street where visitors can pickup Tour Maps and artists information.

(New York, NY) – June 6, 2016, West Chelsea Artists Open Studios presents its sixth annual Artists’ Open Studios in the West Chelsea Arts district Saturday and Sunday, June 11-12, 2016 from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. The open studios event is free and open to the public.

Ten times Tony award winning Tommy Tune, a Broadway legendary star and artist, will participate in the West Chelsea Artists Open studios, June 11-12, 2016, during the weekend of the Tony Awards.

Tommy Tune will present a series of his Broadway lithography prints, and will be on hand for a print signing during the open studios event, Sunday, June 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to autograph purchased artworks.

On Saturday and Sunday, June 11-12, more than 40 artists in the iconic West Chelsea Arts district will open their studios to the public for a weekend free, self-guided art tour. Presented by the West Chelsea artists and the Public Art Squad Projects, the artists open studios provides the rare opportunity for the public to meet a multitude of artists, to learn about their works, styles and mediums, and to see first-hand those creative spaces generally open exclusively by appointment.

The self-guided tour is an open format that has proven to be an ideal way to encourage dialogue between artists and enthusiasts allowing visitors to gain first hand knowledge about the creative process. It has an invaluable value since it gives collectors the opportunity to purchase works directly from the artists’ studio inventory and discover new talent before it makes its way to the gallery walls.

This is the event when talents can be discovered and artwork can be purchased directly from the artists, at studio prices, without a gallery markup, which can be 50% or more.

West Chelsea Artists Open Studios is an annual event allowing the artists of the West Chelsea Arts district to open their studios to the public. This weekend 2-day event attracts art lovers, collectors, artists, and tourists to the neighborhood making it a community-wide celebration.

The tour begins at the West Chelsea Artists Open Studios information center located in the West Chelsea Art Building lobbies at 508 and 526 West 26th Street. Printed self-guided Tour Maps can be picked up, as well as artists’ materials at the information tables.

The open studios locations Tour Guide Maps are also available at Westbeth Artists Housing, lobby, 55 Bethune Street, our sponsors, local businesses without the West Chelsea and participating artists studios.
